Checkmates - Checkmate (1975)

We've previously posted a 7" from the Checkmates - this full length LP came out several years later, and sees the band more in a mid-70's lounge band mode. This isn't far off from the fare of the Stardells (probably telling that Ron Barge gets a thanks on the liner notes) - a mix of pop rock standards and... polkas. It looks like the Checkmates were active into the early 1980s, playing various clubs and lounges.
