Sara & Tegan - Live On CBC Radio (1998)
While we're pilfering the extensive posts over at Teenage Dogs in Trouble, we might as well include this one. We're posting this ENTIRELY because it's by those famous former-Calgarian twins, but under their original (and superior) name, Sara & Tegan.
This is another CBC session, from the same year as the three demo tapes we posted a few years ago. It's a stripped-down affair, with the gals on acoustic guitars (as was their wont back in the day - before they had the mighty synth power of Mark Mothersbaugh to propel them onto the stage at the Grimy's). The interviews might be the highlight here - the sisters dig into the mythology of their rise from the bedroom to winning Calgary's Garage Wars competition. Oh, and the hosts take the time to read the Quin sisters' bio from the time, which stated that "both girls are single and see boys as an obstacle to their career."
Well, how can you top that? Grab the download from the excellent Teenage Dogs in Trouble.
