CCPS Miscellany: The Smalls - Final Show on CJSR (2001)

Before we leave Edmonton (quick! gotta get out before the end of April, or we'll be stuck here FOREVER!), we have one more tape, courtesy of Todd Walker.

This is - apparently - a broadcast of the Smalls' final show, from CJSR radio. As the title of this post is pretty clear about. We actually forgot that the Smalls kept going for so long - perhaps because Corb Lund's post-Smalls output has been fairly constant.

We ended up in a bit of a debate today, trying to decide which city owns Corb Lund. As much as an Edmonton band as the Smalls were, we like to think of Corb as an Albertan, plain and simple.

Anyways, grab this radio broadcast here.

CCPS Miscellany: Various - Edmonton Punk Explosion

We thought we lost our mp3s of this tape in the great mediafire shitshow we went through prior to Christmas. Well, thankfully we didn't - so this donation from Chris Millar can see the light of day!

What is this? It's a super low-budget compilation of, uh, Edmonton punk bands. In fact, an explosion, as it were. Anyways, this thing is so low budget that the songs at the ends of both side are cut off, presumably because they were too cheap to spring for longer blanks.

Get it here.

CCPS Miscellany: Tippy Agogo - New Age Music to Make Love By (1991)

One last Edmonton tape from Shelley Boettcher, this one from the still-active Tippy Agogo. We know Tippy as a one-man band of sorts (Edmonton's version of Dan the One Man Band?), but apparently he also played with Jerry Jerry and the Sons of Rhythm Orchestra as well as Jr.Gone Wild.

Get Tippy here.

CCPS Miscellany: The Imagineers - The Imagineers (1992)

Shelley Boettcher's tape collection is taking us up to Edmonton with this tape from the Imagineers. We're struggling to find anything useful to say about them - other than they appear to have been hairy.

Imagine that!
