Dan Izzo has passed this one onto us. Handsome Dan confirms our suspicions by noting, "I used to see them about three times a month at the Black Lung."
Dan also says one or more of these guys went on to form Downway. We have no idea what he's talking about.
And if you don't know where the Black Lung was, you weren't there.

I remember the crowd of 14 year old girls hoppin' and boppin' along to this stuff..
Ya ok, I listened the shit out of this demo - but where are the 2 el caminos tapes?
what a crucial site!
I was Ocean Productions who used to book all ages shows at the black lounge. You can see me thanked on their tape insert. Anyways, Dave and Dave originally had named their band The Simultaneousy Playing Instruments. I booked their first show (as I went to high school with them). I put S.P.I. on the poster because the name they had chosen was way too long. After the posters were all printed someone pointed out to them that this was kind of a lame name. I refused to reprint the posters so they had to come up with a name that also used the initials S.P.I. It was both Daves that went on to form Downway.
Joel - thanks for the backstory!
missing from rapidshare... due to not enoguh downloads! the shock!
Please, Please, Please, Repost this album, Oh god I still get Girlfriend stuck in my head all the time
We've fixed the link, for those who have missed this...
I used to sell knives with one of the guys in this band and he gave me one of those demo tapes. It was great. I wish i hadn't given all my tapes to my brother. They're all gone now.
omg too funny. i dont have any of these and havent heard them in a decade or more. yes dave holmes and myself went on to form downway as well.
link is broken!? ahhhhhhh
My brother went to high school with the Downway drummer. Was he in SPI as well? Anyhow, succinctly remember driving down Anderson road when I first heard the song Girlfriend. Sunny day. Good summer.
