Jonestown Punch - Jonestown Punch (1991)

Jonestown Punch

Jonestown Punch-2

So, if Swank on This was Jonestown Punch's Uplift Mofo Party Plan, this is their, uh, Mother's Milk? (We really don't know, we're not that conversant in the works of the Red Hot Chili Peppers). More metal, less funky. There's a skaterock tendency on here that's not as obvious as in Swank on This.

And a Beatles sample that probably wasn't cleared.

Jammed this cassette hard back in grade 8, borrowed it for a week from my friend Sarah and REALLY didn't want to give it back. I remember clearly riding the school bus with my yellow Sony sports Walkman and glaring out the window, FEELING it. They played a show in Kelowna, B.C. around that time, but my mom didn't like their name and wouldn't drive me to the show. I didn't get the reference at the time. Recently, I watched the soul-crushingly horrifying Jim Jones/People's Temple documentary on YouTube and was reminded of these dudes. I immediately began to scour the internet looking for a copy, but alas...
It's crazy, I can STILL remember the lyrics to a couple songs. In fact, every time I'm hungover I hear "Mornings like these, make me think of nights like that..."
Oh, nostalgia...

If anybody out there knows how/where I can find a copy of the tape, my grade 8 self would be all like "uh, I guess you're like, pretty cool and stuff or something, I dunno, whatever...", because of emotional confusion and a perceived lack of understanding from the world around me.
(but my old ass 38 year old self would be STOKED)
