Ded. Souls - Fill Your Holes With... (1991)

Ded Souls - Fill Your Holes With...

We've got a pile of new tapes, thanks to Mr. Jeff Caissie (Showdown '76, All Rights Reserved, Porter Hall and others...). So much, in fact, we didn't know where to start. But we've been listening to Wagbeard a lot recently, so why not this, the first Ded. Souls tape? We do like Chris Temple.

Get it here.

This album changed my life. I saw them in Lethbridge open for Pigment Vehicle and Dayglo Abortions on their 2 Dogs Fucking tour. And I bought this tape.

That gig in Lethbridge will always be special to me too... I could not believe the response we got and when I went back there later in Inquisition for a New Years gig...people were still raving about Ded Souls... You all made that so sweet! "FD On My Mind" is for Tom Bagley... we worshipped the "13 Bloody Graves" 7 inch..THAT much!

As the in-lay card states this was recorded in one day ...which I felt was right in the middle of the band's height of power... We just found the bass player that was as crazy as us, went in and slammed through basically a set of our songs, played a slew of gigs that helped us decide the songs we would focus on, and whamo! We used this tape as a launching pad for participation in events we thought were unattainable ie; touring with Dayglo Abortions, plenty of headlining all-ages shows, CJSW functions, radioplay, interviews, and set the esthetic for our merch and image... "Fast Cars" debuted at #7 on the CJSW singles chart, were involved in the festival at Mewata Stadium... which I have on dvd(as well as Highwood)... Its four people just kicking out the jams!!! Timing is everything and we made this "Pup" when it was meant to be made... sure, it has its quirks, and would loved to have a second take on some parts... but it represented that live feel, where anything could happen...and it was captured...

Oh, and some members of the band are looking into compiling all of our recorded music, live covers, live un-recorded material , and video footage together on an enhanced cd or something like that... considering next year will be 20th anniversary of "Fill Your Holes..." we will set up a Facebook group to keep anyone interested in the loop!

The Rapid share link is dead. Any chance of putting up these albums somewhere else?

Good times. That Lethbridge show with the Dayglos was a riot. All 3 shows with them were. CCPS rocks!

Game changer for me. This album would inspire the creation of JIL out of Lethbridge
